The sun is shining brightly today. There are no clouds in the sky and it’s 55 degrees. We drove a loop road from Saco to Camp Ellis and Pien Point via 9 through Old Orchard Beach. We stopped at Ocean Park and took the boardwalk to the beach. I picked up some shells.
We saw five lighthouses today. The Cape Elizabeth 2 Lights Lighthouse, Portland Head Lighthouse (built in 1791) and one just offshore on an island called Ram Island Ledge. We went to Spring Point lighthouse by the Fort Pebble ruins and to Portland Breakwater Lighthouse (also called Bug Light) by the docks. An NCL ship was in dock today. There were lots of people and buses from the ship at Portland Head Lighthouse.
We went to Commerce Street in downtown Portland by the docks and walked around and stopped at Gritty McDuff’s for a beer. Matt, the sales rep for Gritty’s, was at the bar and started talking to us. He bought us a beer. Jim ordered Pizza Hut pizza for us tonight and we picked it up and took it back to the Casita.
