It’s raining this morning and the train station we usually go to was full. We had to go to another one just a little farther in toward Boston. We took the train to JFK National Historic Park. This is the birthplace of JFK and all of the furnishings are original to the house. Rose Kennedy restored the house herself shortly after JFK's asasination. After having four children here the Kennedys moved a couple of blocks over to a larger house. After touring the birthplace and walking by the other house, we went back to the train stop. Next to it was a Trader Joe’s and we bought six bottles of 3 buck Chuck. Then we took the train to Boston Brewing Company, took the tour and had samples of Sam Adams beer. Their Boston location has a small brew house that they use to make test batches and also their limited release beers. It has two mash tuns because they do single decoction mashes when making their lager beers. After the tour we took a trolley the historic Dooley’s Pub a few blocks away and had another Sam Adams. They will give you a glass if you buy a beer. These glasses were specially designed for drinking Sam Adams Boston Lager. Then we took the train back to the truck and drove back to camp.
