We got breakfast from the Subway Sandwich shop inside Walmart. They have good breakfast sandwiches. Then we headed north to the White Mountains National Forest. We stopped at the Ranger station and purchased a detailed map and got some information on campgrounds. Two campgrounds have showers and flush toilets. We drove to the first one called Russell Pond Campground. This is between Woodstock and North Woodstock off I-93 to the east. There are only a few campers and a couple of trailers here. We had lunch and then drove into North Woodstock to the Woodstock Station Inn and Brewery a had a beer. Afterward we drove to Kinsman Notch and beaver pond. We thought we would go look at another campground near North Woodstock. It was smaller and had one flush toilet powered by solar panels and a couple of pit toilets and didn’t have showers.
On the way back to camp we stopped by Lincoln Woods visitor center and took pictures of the very pretty scenery at a bridge over the East Branch of the Pemingwasset River. It was cloudy all day and cleared off just before we took pictures of the river. We stopped at a hardware store and purchased a fan sprayer for our water hose. I cooked a large wok full of Thai yellow curry chicken. Jim ate 3 bowls full! Since no one is around us in our camping loop, I used our outside shower hookup and took a hot shower. We switched propane tanks today -- the first one lasted us 4 weeks exactly. Our new Silverado turned over 5,000 miles today.
